The project was born from the fusion of two ideas originating from the profound conscientiousness of mechanisms through which the human been interacts with the natural and social ecosystem where he lives. Incorrect knowledge and education of its main principles, the respect and safeguard of the earth where we live bring society in its fundamental parts not to take into consideration its subtle equilibrium, almost entirely unhinged, existing between the human race and nature in its entirety. Two ideas came across and found their common denominator in the centrality of the role that carries out education of true values of cohesion, which are at the base of a perfect functioning of the natural ecosystem and of the less perfect human-social environment. Hence, the project to establish an International Study Centre as a centre of excellence in training, education but, above all, to create a pole of conscientiousness that teaches the “individual” to become aware of the importance of working for the good of the community.
The Centre aims to become a logistic platform where active and thinking minds co-exist ready to handle and undertake together, each one with its own scientific and conscientious knowledge, the topic under examination, studying and spreading, in order to improve the inertial stasis where human nature has fallen over the last decades. The Centre, for the accomplishment of its projects, shall avail itself of the cooperation of outstanding institutions such as universities, public, private and international organizations, such as UNESCO, EU, FAO etc.. so that it would become possible, to bring out the essential didactics from “the sacred temple of knowledge” in order to train the new generations to use their intellect to look upon the wonders of Nature with new eyes. ARKEGOS is a no-profit association, established for the purpose of educating the international science community (medical, humanistic) and its aim is to become a worldwide focal point in the ethical and socially responsible “planning”. To achieve this “mission” our commitment is to contribute to growth of the knowledge of “the project” and its innovation, through models and solutions necessary to enhance the qualitative standards generated from it. As a centre of excellence and reference, it will be a centre for meetings and current debates on scientific, educational, and experimental topics (eg. monitoring and valorization of human and environmental resources of the enormous natural heritage, teaching programs for schools colleges and universities, preservation of bio-geological and bio-marine values and therefore the preservation of the bio-diversity in its various forms, anthropological, social, medical, etc.). It is a must for us to create a dialogue between science and faith through anthropological and bio-ethical studies; science and education are seen as a profound conscientiousness of the human intellect. Our common thinking is: to work with science and conscientiousness. That said, however, ARKEGOS would be remiss if, in the furthering of this global perspective, it did not recognize the scientific, cultural and communicative values intrinsic in the teaching and studying of other topics inherent to education. For this reason, ARKEGOS does not wish to be known simply as an international study centre. We are, above all, a centre dedicated to the improvement of those who will come to ARKEGOS to work and cooperate for the purpose of sharing, learning and furthering their knowledge and their ability to communicate with the different “scientific” communities. Mission statementScience and culture are two of the unique characteristics that set the International community apart and create that diversity which people everywhere are keen to preserve. Differences in language, teaching and communications skills, however, also contribute to difficulties in communication leading to misunderstanding, misapprehension and conflict. In a shrinking world of modern technology there is a need to minimize the danger inherent in poor education and poor communication without compromising scientific and cultural values and national identities. In the scientific community, there is a need for a common language which bridges the cross-cultural divide.ActivitiesArkegos is founded upon the concept of Science as a maximum expression of the human intellect, hence on the profound conscientiousness where every single derivation is strictly correlated to a common denominator. The cardinal points of the Centre’s activities are:• Bio-medical Science • Humanistic Science • Social Science • Dialogue between Science and Faith The comparison and dialogue between the representatives of the diverse disciplines allow Arkegos to be a “true” and applicative meeting point for the analysis and creation of new explanatory, educative and innovative forecasting models to be destined for the advancement of the community. The humanistic-anthropological analysis of science constitutes a “continuous base” to support the foundations for “educating science”, from which the profound inner conscience of the universe, where human beings, with their evolution, past history and progress, cannot be separated, because we believe that mankind is part of the perfect mechanism, which is Nature. From this derives the need for a Study Centre as a reference and meeting point for the different disciplines, and fundamental mechanisms of the perfect evolution of the human intellect. |
